Terms of service
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and CheckoutSwitch (“we”, “us”) when you use CheckoutSwitch. The Privacy policy and the Refund policy are part of them.
The short version
- CheckoutSwitch gives your Shopify store a checkout of its own. Shoppers pay into your own Whop account, and we create the paid order in your Shopify admin.
- We never hold your money or your shoppers' money.
- Setting up is free, and your first store gets 7 days free when it switches on. Then a plan is $49 a month for your first store and $29 for each store after it, and renews until you cancel.
- You stay the seller: your products, prices, taxes, shipping, refunds and customers are yours to look after.
- Your first payment can be refunded in full within 14 days.
1. Who these terms are for
CheckoutSwitch is for businesses that sell on Shopify. By creating an account, or by using CheckoutSwitch for a store, you accept these terms. If you accept them for a company, you confirm that you may do so on its behalf.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding agreement.
2. What CheckoutSwitch does
CheckoutSwitch is software. It gives your Shopify store a checkout page, on a CheckoutSwitch address or on your own domain. Shoppers pay in Whop's payment box, into your own Whop account. When Whop confirms a payment, we create the matching paid order in your Shopify admin.
We are not a bank, a payment processor or a seller. Whop takes the payments, under its own terms, and CheckoutSwitch never receives, holds or pays out your sales. Any fees Whop charges you are between you and Whop.
CheckoutSwitch is independent of Shopify and of Whop. Shopify and Whop are trademarks of their owners.
We are in Whop's partner program. If you open your Whop account through the link in our setup, Whop may pay us a referral commission out of its own earnings. It does not change what Whop charges you.
3. Your account
- Use an email address you read, and keep it up to date. We send what you need to know about your account and your stores there.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done in your account.
- If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at once at hello@checkoutswitch.com.
4. Your stores and the keys you give us
To run a checkout we need access to your Shopify store and your Whop account. You give us that access with keys you create there: a Shopify Admin API access token, a Whop API key and, if you choose, a password from Shopify's Theme Access app. Only give us keys for a store and a Whop account that you own or are allowed to manage.
We use the keys only to do what CheckoutSwitch does for you: read your products and prices, create orders, set up and check your Whop payments, and add the checkout line to your theme.
You can take that access back at any time by deleting the keys in Shopify or Whop. CheckoutSwitch can then no longer run your checkout.
You remain responsible for following Shopify's and Whop's own terms, and for your accounts with them.
5. You are the seller
Your shoppers buy from you, not from us. You are responsible for your products, prices, taxes, shipping and delivery, returns, refunds, chargebacks and customer service, and for the policies and the privacy notice on your store.
Check your checkout before you switch it on, and keep an eye on your orders. We compare Whop's payments with your Shopify orders every 15 minutes, but your books remain yours to keep.
6. What you may not do
- Sell anything that is against the law where you or your shoppers are, or that Shopify or Whop do not allow.
- Use CheckoutSwitch to mislead shoppers, to take payment for things you will not deliver, or to move money for anyone else.
- Put a checkout on a domain you do not control.
- Try to get into accounts, stores or data that are not yours, or test our security without our written permission.
- Copy, resell or rebuild CheckoutSwitch, or overload it on purpose.
We may pause a checkout or an account that breaks these rules, or that puts shoppers, other merchants or us at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
7. Plans and payment
Setting up a store is free. A plan is $49 a month for your first store and $29 a month for each store after it, or $490 and $290 a year. Prices are in US dollars.
Your account's first store starts with a 7-day free trial when you switch it on. You add a card on Whop's page, the store is live through the trial, and the card is charged when it ends unless you cancel before. Each store after the first is paid when you switch it on.
Plans are paid in advance. Whop takes the payment for us. A plan renews by itself at the end of each month or year until you cancel it.
If a card is declined, Whop tries it again and your store keeps selling meanwhile. If a plan ends unpaid, that store's checkout pauses: shoppers use Shopify's own checkout and your settings are kept. It comes back when the plan is paid again.
A paid plan stays with your account. If you delete a store while its plan is paid, the plan is kept, and the next store you switch on uses it with nothing more to pay. To stop paying, cancel the plan.
We may change our prices. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, so you can cancel before it does.
8. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a plan at any time: open Billing in your account and press Manage, which opens your plan on Whop. The plan stays on until the end of the period you have paid for and is not charged again.
Refunds follow our Refund policy. In short: your first payment can be refunded in full within 14 days, and a charge made by mistake is always refunded.
9. Your data and your shoppers' data
Our Privacy policy says what we collect and why. When shoppers use your checkout, we handle their details for you, only to take their order and payment and to create the order in your Shopify admin. Tell your shoppers how their details are used, in your store's own privacy policy.
Your store's data is yours. We do not sell it, and we use it only to run CheckoutSwitch for you.
10. When things go wrong
We work to keep CheckoutSwitch running at all times, but we cannot promise that it never stops. Shopify, Whop, our hosting or the internet can fail, and so can we.
CheckoutSwitch is built so that, if it cannot be reached, your store's checkout buttons go to Shopify's own checkout, and you can still sell.
We improve CheckoutSwitch all the time, and may change or remove a feature. If a change takes away something you rely on, we will tell you before it happens.
11. Ending
You can stop at any time: cancel your plans, take the checkout line out of your theme and delete your stores in the app. To close your account as well, write to hello@checkoutswitch.com.
We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why. If we close an account for any other reason, or stop CheckoutSwitch, we refund the unused part of any plan you have paid for.
12. Liability
CheckoutSwitch is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it other than those in these terms.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data or any indirect loss, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We are not responsible for Shopify or Whop: for their services, their fees, or their decisions about your accounts or your money.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will email you at least 14 days before it applies. The date at the top of this page is the date of the last change. If you do not accept a change, cancel your plans before it applies.
